Being Human Festival

The HEIR resource at the Institute of Archaeology will for the first time open its treasure-trove of Victorian Lantern Slides to the public at the 'Being Human - Festival of the Humanities' (http://beinghumanfestival.org/). During the Festival week of 15th to 23rd of November Dr Sally Crawford and Dr Katharina Ulmschneider will run a series of events collectively entitled 'The Shock of the Old'. These include:

1. a revolving lantern-slide show at the Ashmolean Museum entitled: 'Victorians and Edwardians in search of the past'. Ashmolean Museum Atrium, 15th-22nd November 2014, Free, during museum hours, no booking required. 2. a lantern-slide performance with musical accompaniment entitled: 'From London to Constantinople - a Victorian Lantern Slide Performance'. Saturday, 22 November 2014 from 6pm to 7:30pm. St Margaret's Institute
