ECAIC storymaps the prehi(p)story of the ostentatious moustache for Movember 2017

Dr Peter Hommel and Dr Helen Chittock of the European Celtic Art in Context (ECAIC) project have created a storymap exploring the history of the ostentatious moustache for all those partaking in this month's Movember challenge. 

Their research findings suggest that the current 'hipster' trend for fashioning facial follicles has deep roots in prehistoric societies across the world and they offer compelling evidence (both direct and circumstantial) that the Hulk Hogan 'horseshoe' moustache has been in fashion for far longer than you would hope for.
