This work is now published as: Lock, G., Gosden, C. and Daly, P. 2005. Segsbury Camp. Excavations in 1996 and 1997 at an Iron Age hillfort on the Oxfordshire Ridgeway. Oxford: University of Oxford School of Archaeology Monograph 61 and is available from Oxbow Books.
The report describes the periodic occupation of the hillfort between the 6th and 2nd centuries BC and suggests that it is a communal centre for various activities including sheep management and exchange.
Excavations at Segsbury Camp
The excavations had two artists in residence and their work, The Segsbury Art Project, is described in detail as well as its effects on the archaeologists.
