Archaeology of the Middle East Seminar Series

AMESS

Mondays 5pm, Michaelmas Term

Via MS Teams
Convenors 2021/22: Dr Jade Whitlam & Dr Bill Finlayson

The Archaeology of the Middle East Seminar Series is a forum to present and discuss archaeological research that looks at any aspect of the pre-modern Middle East, from Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan. AMESS invites speakers from the UK and abroad who are undertaking new research and who represent a breadth of topics and periods. In particular, we seek to promote research that adopts multi-faceted or interdisciplinary methods to tackle fundamental archaeological questions, as well as projects which address the future of archaeology in the Middle East.

AMESS has been established with a view to bringing together the rapidly growing number of scholars based across the University Divisions and GLAM that are currently working in the region. We also welcome students and other researchers who are interested in engaging with the field.
