We are delighted and very proud to share the news that Philippa Kent (Hertford), who graduated last year from our BA Archaeology and Anthrology degree, has been awarded the Prehistoric Society Undergraduate Dissertation Prize 2020 for her dissertation (supervisor: Mark Robinson) titled:

Unearthing Pompeii: a study of the stratigraphic sequence beneath the Roman town using tephra analysis.

Dr Melanie Giles (Vice-President, Chair of the Prehistoric Society’s Undergraduate Dissertation Competition) wrote that this year saw one of the largest submissions to this competition, “raising the competition to a new level of excellence: both the student and the supervisor are to be congratulated on the excellent standard of the work and the guidance provided by the home department”.

Well done, Philippa!
