In this chapter, I will present examples of finger-rings from Britain that reveal some of the ways that they were linked with people’s experiences and emotions during the period ca. 1200–1660. The discussion of the designs, materials, deposition, and recovery of the rings is intended to illuminate some of the varied facets of their uses and meanings. By exploring the social, political, and religious contexts of use, light can be shed on the lives of the rings, and the experiences and emotions of their owners.
